Top left: Fredonia girls basketball coach Carol Zirkle and her players celebrate their victory over Mynderse on Saturday in the New York State Class B Far West Regional at Buffalo State College.  The Lady Billies won by a score of 55-46 to clinch their first ever trip to the state semifinals, to be played Friday, March 17th at 11:45 AM in Troy.  Fredonia's opponent that day will be Irvington.  Photo by Ron Szot

Top right: Northstar Christian Academy sophomore Miles Brown steals the ball from Chautauqua Lake's Devin Pope during Saturday's Class C Far West Regional in Batavia.  Brown did a lot for Northstar, scoring 38 points, pulling down 12 rebounds, and recording four steals, as the Knights defeated the Thunderbirds by a score of 77-70.  Chautauqua Lake's basketball season ended with a record of 21-4.  Photo by the Buffalo News

Bottom: Matt Moulson celebrates after scoring a power play goal during the 2nd period of the Buffalo Sabres' game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday at the KeyBank Center.  It was one of three goals in the period that brought back the Sabres from a 3-0 deficit.  Two late goals in the 3rd period gave the Sabres a 5-3 win.  Photo by the Buffalo News
