Saturday Sports Update

Top: Rasmus Ristolainen and the Buffalo Sabres celebrate his game-winning goal against the New York Islanders on Friday at the KeyBank Center.  It was only Ristolainen's second goal of the season, but it gave the Sabres a 3-2 overtime victory over the Isles.  The Sabres travel south tonight to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.  Photo by the Buffalo News

Bottom left: Chautauqua Lake's Devin Pope goes up for a layup during the Thunderbirds' league opener against Southwestern.  Pope's play has been a big reason for Chautauqua Lake's 3rd-place rankings by the New York State Sportswriters' Association for all Class C teams in the state.  On Friday, Pope scored a career-high 33 points in an 83-50 win.  Photo by the Post-Journal
