Top: The final weekend of high school football's regular season kicked off Friday night and included a matchup in the Orange Bowl between Dunkirk and Fredonia-Westfield-Brocton. The Marauders dominated the game from the opening kickoff and shut out FWB by a score of 44-0. Juan Damas (left) scored two of Dunkirk's touchdowns on the night, the first on a 9-yard run and the second on a 39-yard reception. FWB struggled to move the ball all game, managing only 65 total yards. Cole Tippens (right) had a pair of receptions for 23 yards for FWB. Photos by Ron Szot
Bottom left: The Buffalo Sabres, who already lost budding superstar Jack Eichel to a high ankle sprain earlier this week, will be without one of their top forwards indefinitely. On Friday, the Sabres announced that Evander Kane suffered cracked ribs in the Sabres' season opener against Montreal.
