Carolyn S. (Cash) Coniglio, age 91, of 11 Cleveland Ave., Fredonia died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at her home with her loving family at her side.
Carolyn was born June 27, 1926 in Dunkirk to Charles and Josephine Conti Cash. She grew up in Dunkirk and attended Dunkirk schools. On June 21, 1947, she married Jesse "Sam" Coniglio. The couple was married 50 years at the time of Sam's death in 1997.
Carolyn was an employee at Brooks Hospital and retired from there at the age of 80. She enjoyed playing cards, exercising, especially long walks, and having coffee and lunch with her friends. Most of all, Carolyn enjoyed cooking, entertaining and being together with her family, especially at the holidays.
She was a member of the Carl Vincent Auxiliary and a longtime member of St. Anthony's Church.
Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Charleen (Curtis) Bass and Karen (Bob) Gorka, both of Fredonia; three grandchildren, Tara (Jason) Slocum, Heather (Ralph) Stronner and Robert (Lisa) Gorka; and two great-grandchildren, Danielle Gorka and Tristan Stronner. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Frank Cash, James (late Sylvia) Cash, Joseph (Izene) Cash, Thomas (Leslyn) Cash, Ida Cash, Mary Drone and Phyllis (Lawrence) Vecchio.
Calls may be made Friday, March 9 from 4-8 p.m. at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, Cushing St., Fredonia on Saturday, March 10 at noon (please assemble at church).
