Ronald H. Gross, 84, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Gowanda Nursing Home. He was born in Buffalo on September 12, 1933, the son of the late Harry and Ruby (Sloan) Gross.
Mr. Gross was an Army veteran. He owned and operated Ron's Collision in Zoar Valley in Gowanda, which became Ron's Sports and Service on Water Street in Gowanda, where he sold and serviced Ski-Doo snowmobiles and Yahama motorcycles. He also worked at Purdy Ford in Gowanda.
Mr. Gross was a member of Gowanda Legion Post No. 409 and was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Cattaraugus.
Mr. Gross is survived by two daughters, Renee R. Cain and Ronda L. Stieber; as well as a brother-in-law, Merle Flagg. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Clinton A. Cain and Elyse J. Stieber; and a niece and several nephews. He also is survived by a friend, Norma Krager. Besides his parents, Mr. Gross is predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Wulf and Florence (Peggy) Flag.
Funeral services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Liberty Park Cemetery in Cattaraugus.
Memorials may be made to either yhe United Methodist Church in Cattaraugus or the American Legion in Gowanda.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda.
