Charles Timothy Hassett, 86, completed his life's journey on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green, OH. He is resting peacefully in God's arm now, and will remain with us in loving memories.
Charles was born to Timothy and Amy Hofer Hassett on April 6, 1931 in Dunkirk and resided in the area until 2016, when he relocated to Ohio to be near family.
He is predeceased by his parents; his brother, James; and his loving wife of 58 years, Gail Daniels Hassett. He is survived by their children, Timothy Charles Hassett, Mark Daniel Hassett (Meg) and Ellen Joan Hassett (Richard Parasiliti); as well as their grandchildren, Corey (Courtney) Zidow, Sarah Parasiliti, Ethan Hassett and Aidan Hassett; and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was employed by the Prudential Insurance company for 30 years until his retirement in 1989. He also worked in real estate. Along with travel, he enjoyed reading, working in his garden, woodworking and playing bridge. A visit to Ireland with family was one of his fondest memories.
Chuck had been a member of many organizations throughout his life including Lions, Moose, and Lakeside clubs. He was also an active parishioner of St. Joseph church in Fredonia.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, when he will be interred near his wife at Holy Cross Columbarium, Route 60, Dunkirk.
