Emerson L. Cobb, 82 years old, of Fredonia went to his Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning, November 14, 2017 after a sudden illness. He was born in Brocton on February 6, 1935 to the late Clyde and Jesse Persons Cobb and has lived in this area his entire life.
Emerson was a 1954 graduate of Brocton Central School and served his country in the United States Air Force, graduating from the Automatic Track and Radar School. He was employed at the Post Office in Fredonia for many years, retiring in 1996. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Dunkirk. Besides his family, he loved gardening, reading, politics, deer hunting, bird watching and TV watching.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Cobb of Fredonia, and whom he was married to for 57 years; one daughter, Robin (Ronald) Frommer of Laona; one son, Kevin (Linda) Cobb of Sheridan; and four grandchildren, Jessie Cobb, Esther Cobb, Emily Cobb and Christopher Frommer. He was predeceased by one sister, Edith Tracy; and one infant brother, Harold Cobb.
As per the family's wishes, the funeral services and interment will be private.
The family suggests memorials in Emerson's honor be given to the First Baptist Church of Dunkirk, 878 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY 14048; and/or The American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
