Sharon Saft Kirkby, "Sweetheart," age 68, of Fredonia passed away Sunday evening, October 8, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born March 3, 1949 in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Joseph and Hazel Saft.
Sharon had an extensive career in insurance working for Nationwide Insurance and was an entrepreneur, developing her own fitness business.
In 1986, Sharon won the Mrs. USA pageant.
She had a passion for education and loved to travel. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Ronald Kirkby of Fredonia; her four children, Shannon, Erin, Tammy and Heath; four sisters, Beverly, Sheila, Barbara, and Kristine; one brother, Joseph Saft; several nieces and nephews; and six grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 21. The Rev. Robert Bradbury will officiate. Immediately following the service will be the burial at St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
