Donald Wayne Sortore, Sr., age 76, of Avon Park, FL, formerly of Westfield, NY and Ridgeway, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in Avon Park.
Donald was born on June 27, 1941 in Jamestown, a son of the late Robert and Marjorie (Wood) Sortore. He had retired from Renold, Inc. following 34 years of service and had been a resident of Avon Park for the past eight years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing; however, his family was most special to him.
Donald is survived by his two children, Donald W. Sortore, Jr. and Sally J. Farnham, both of Westfield. He was the proud grandfather of Allan Bourquin, Andrew Sortore, Brittany Sortore and Linda (Steve) Keefer. He is further survived by several great-grandchildren and his sister, Betty (Gary) Palmer of Fredonia; as well as his friend and former wife, Susan Sortore of Westfield. He was preceded in death by his brother, Merle Sortore and his stepfather, Wolcott Colt.
All services will be private. Memorials may be made to the West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 East Route 20, Westfield, NY 14787.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield.
