Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Thorpe, 84, of Westfield passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 in Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk. She was born February 24, 1933 in Mechanicsburg, PA, the daughter of the late James and Della Schorrina Fair.
In earlier years, she had been employed by Lakewood Elementary School and Heritage Park Nursing Home. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Red Lobster in Lakewood.
She attended Watts Flats United Methodist Church, Open Meadows United Methodist Church and Westfield United Methodist Church.
Betty enjoyed reading the Bible, crocheting, knitting and puzzles.
Surviving are her husband, Albert Thorpe; 10 children, Goldie Williams of Jamestown, Roberta Whitmore of Jamestown, Dale (Vicki) Troutman of Jamestown, Patricia (Tim) Higgs of Sinclairville, Mary Rodriguez of Jamestown, Joe Troutman of Jamestown, Gayle Hetrick of Jamestown, Julia Troutman Nelson of Falconer, Lloyd Troutman of Jamestown and David Troutman of Jamestown; two stepsons, Thomas J. Thorpe and James Thorpe, both of Westfield; 33 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Fair and Dick Fair; and two sisters, Louise Fox and Mary Bazavich. She was preceded in death by five husbands, William Dale Troutman, Kenneth Baker, Fred Ordway, Chleo King and George Black; a brother, Pete Fair; and a sister, Goldie Gibson.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 19 in the Falconer Funeral Home, 44 W. Falconer St., Falconer, NY 14733. The Rev. Nicholas Perry, pastor of Westfield United Methodist Church, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
