Michael E. Boedo, age 36, of Silver Creek died unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, June 20, 2017 at his residence.
Michael was born on May 25, 1981 in Buffalo, the son of Edward and Joyce (Hilliker) Boedo. A Silver Creek resident most of his life, he was a graduate of Silver Creek Central School, Class of 1999. After high school, he attended Jamestown Business College, then he went to work at Aunt Millie's for a number of years. Currently, Michael was employed as a phlebotomist for TLC/Health Network in Irving.
Michael had many interests: camping, gardening, bonfires, listening to classic country music, attending auctions and yard sales to name a few of them. He loved collecting antiques and his beloved dog "Jackson." Michael was an integral part of the Festival of Grapes in Silver Creek; he chaired the dessert contest and the wine tasting and was a former board member. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, as one board member said, "He had a beautiful soul." His favorite place to spend time with family and friends was Don's Hideaway at the Boedo Pavilion behind his house.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by a sister, Kathleen (Richard) White; a brother, Brian (Cassandra Mott) Boedo; his maternal grandmother, Jean Dalrymple all of Silver Creek; another grandmother, Rose (Tom) Greeley of Versailles; six nieces, Alexa White, Lauryn Griewisch, Madison and Yanna Mott and Kiele Boedo and Charley Boedo; also a nephew, Andrew White. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary (Barraclough) Boedo; and a maternal grandfather, Arnold Hilliker.
Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek on Saturday, June 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 25 at 2 p.m. Pastor Robert Sheldon of the First Baptist Church of Silver Creek will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery.
