She was the pianist for the Sunday morning worship service at Absolut of Westfield. Her faith was unswerving, and she was proud of the accomplishments of her Lydia Circle of friends. Doris was ready for her heavenly home.

She retired from SUNY Geneseo as a custodian. Prior to that, she was an aide for New York State and worked as an operator for Rochester Telephone for 18 years before they went to dial phones.

Survivors include her seven children, Pauline Emilson of Westfield, with whom she resided, Gloria (Tommy) Jones of Huntsville, AL, Gail (Tracy) Lawson of Dalton, NY, Katherine Kenney of Westfield, Karl (Karen) Kenney of Norfolk, VA, Patrick (Diane) Kenney of Dansville and Edward (Tracy) Kenney of Mt. Morris, NY. She is further survived by nine grandchildren, including Jeffrey Emilson of Westfield with whom she resided, and Monica Helton, with whom she shared a birthday; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
