Dorothy T. Wystup

Dorothy T. Wystup, 92, of Dunkirk died Monday, April 17, 2017. She was born in Dunkirk on June 19, 1924, daughter of the late William and Laura (Nowinski) Trudnowski.

Dorothy was a retired employee of Ralston Purina, serving as the executive secretary to the plant manager; and in the past, she was a nurse's aide during WWII. She had worked at Brooks Memorial Hospital and at the former ALCOA Steel Products.

For many years, Dorothy went to the Chautauqua County Home to visit the many residents without family members.

Her memberships included Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig and the Parish Rosary Society. A devout Catholic, she spent much of her time at the church, RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), and volunteering at Brooks Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are her adopted children that were her life, Kevin (Cindy) Wystup of Fredonia, Kathleen (Dale) Dillenburg of Forestville and Richard Wystup of Wellsville; grandchildren, Jennifer Wystup Gettings, Stacy Wystup, Christopher (Lauren Moss) Wystup, Desiree Chambliss, Tierra Dillenburg, Richard Wystup and Brittany Wystup; great-grandchildren, Stephon Carmona, Damari Chambliss, Tracyana Griggs and Tyleah Bell; along with nieces and nephews. Preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Gerald V. Wystup, who died in March 1988; brother, William Trudnowski; and sister, Virginia (Carl) Lis.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Thursday, April 20 at 10:00 AM in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
