Jeffry W. Jagoda, 70, of Dunkirk died Saturday afternoon, April 15, 2017 at the Absolut Care of Dunkirk following a lengthy illness. He was born July 29, 1946 in Dunkirk, the son of the late Florian and Dorothy (Lyons) Jagoda.
A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Jeffry served in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. He had been employed at Bush Industries in Jamestown as a computer programmer. Prior to that, Jeffry had worked at Red Wing in Fredonia for more than 20 years. He was a member of the First Ward Falcon Club, Moniuszko Club, and the Kosciuszko Club.
Survivors include three sons, Scott (Sara) Jagoda of Dunkirk, Brian (Jennifer) Jagoda of Frisco, TX and Timothy (Stephanie) Jagoda of Wyle, TX; one brother, John (Vivian) Jagoda of West Falls, NY; and one aunt, Lora Haines of Florida. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah (Dobrinski) Jagoda, who died January 5, 2007; and one sister, Judith Ferrugia.
Committal services will be held Wednesday, April 26 at 11:00 AM at the Assumption Mausoleum of St. Mary's Cemetery, Dunkirk. Pastor Molly T. Golando will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council.
