Sylvia Greco, 84, of Fredonia passed away at Brooks Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Brooks Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 18, 1933, the daughter of the late Sam and Lena (Bardo) Ubaney.
A Fredonia resident all her life, Sylvia was a graduate of Fredonia High School, Class of 1950. Sylvia was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Church. She worked for Park Pharmacy and was a longtime employee of Collesano, Summer & Eades Attorneys.
She enjoyed playing cards, reading, going out on the golf course, and spending time with family and friends.
She was the loving wife of Joseph Greco for almost 64 years, whom she married on July 18, 1953 at St. Anthony's Church in Fredonia. She was the mother of Gail (Art) Phillips of Marysville, PA, Robert (Susan) Greco of Hendersonville, NC and Diane (Michael) Mahoney of Dunkirk; sister of Stephen (Dawn) Ubaney; grandmother to Nicholas (Chanda) Greco, Brian (Amanda) Phillips, Robyn (Brian) Dixon, Jennifer (Roland) Ritter, Rebecca Mahoney and seven great-grandchildren; and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Carolyn Claps.
Calling hours will be held at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 E. Main Street, Fredonia on Sunday, March 26 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 27 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony's Church in Fredonia with the Rev. Joseph Walter. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Sheridan.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society of Fredonia at St. Anthony's Parish.
