Mitchell Alvin Cool, 73 years old, of Portland passed away after a short illness late Friday afternoon, February 10, 2017 at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Pittsfield, PA on July 21, 1943 to the late Oliver Cool and Leda Darling. He had been a resident of this area his entire life.
Mitchell was a retired electrician for Al Tech Steel of Dunkirk. He also enjoyed computers, woodworking and electronics and had one time worked fixing electronic toys for Toys For Tots in Fredonia. Mitchell was also a member of the Moose Club of Westfield.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Melinda (John) Miller of Norton, OH and Miss Michelle Lindstrom of Jamestown; six grandchildren, Amber Torrey, Ashley Lindstrom, Jennifer McClaran, Danielle Gill, Christopher McClaran and Andrew Lindstrom; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Miss Patricia Cool of Westfield; one brother, Martin Cool of Florida; two nieces, Annette Test Dearing and Connie Cool Stamey; and one nephew, Kevin Test. Besides his parents, Oliver Cool and Leda Darling Cool Shear, he was predeceased by one brother, Arthur Cool; and his stepfather, Charles Shear.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will take place at a later time and at the convenience of the family.
