Jewel L. (Hallmark) Sullivan, 84, of Fredonia passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, January 4, 2017 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, surrounded by her loving family.
Jewel was born on May 9, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Clarence D. and Rilla Johnson Hallmark. Jewel was a retired employee of the Dunkirk Ice Cream Plant of Dunkirk, but was best known as the sassiest Bingo player in this whole area. The only thing she loved better than Bingo was her family.
She is survived by her children, Richard Sullivan of Amherst, Judy (Ernest) Crampton of Fredonia, Phyllis (Mark) Webber of Fredonia, Marlene (Dudley) Williams of Brocton and Cynthia Polowy of Fredonia; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jesse, in 1989; and two sons, Marvin and David.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Jewel's Life will be held for family and friends on Sunday, January 8 at 1 p.m. at the American Legion John W. Dill Post 434, 110 West Main St., Brocton.
