An accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the village of Westfield Sunday night claimed the life of a Westfield man. Westfield Police say that around 10 pm, the driver of a vehicle had pulled out from the McDonald's parking lot on East Main Street and was heading west when he struck a man in the roadway who was not using a crosswalk. The victim, 65-year-old Thomas Baideme, was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to ECMC for an autopsy. Police say no charges have been filed in the accident. Westfield Police were assisted at the scene by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
