A supermarket chain based in Western New York is reportedly getting ready to file for bankruptcy. According to a report from Bloomberg, Tops Friendly Markets is one of two supermarket chains in the U.S. currently preparing bankruptcy filings. The report states that the owner of Tops could seek court protection from creditors as soon as this month. Tops, based in Williamsville, has more than 170 stores in New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. There are currently eight Tops locations in Chautauqua County.
