New York State Police have released statistics from their most recent STOP-DWI detail during Super Bowl weekend. Troopers say they made 120 arrests for DWI and issued a total of 7,733 tickets during the enforcement period from February 3rd through 5th. Over 2,400 of the tickets issued were for speeding. Troopers also investigated more than 875 crashes statewide that injured 137 people. Last year's Super Bowl enforcement campaign saw State Police issue 4,098 tickets. The initiative was funded by the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee and was also carried out by local law enforcement agencies.
