A Jamestown woman is facing a number of charges stemming from an investigation into welfare fraud. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, 61-year-old Patricia Gray failed to notify the county's Department of Health and Human Services of income within her household from October 2015 to May 2016. The unreported income allowed Gray to allegedly receive $3,244 in unentitled food stamp benefits. She has been charged with misuse of food stamps, 3rd-degree welfare fraud, 3rd-degree grand larceny, and 1st-degree offering a false instrument for filing.
