New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is co-sponsoring legislation which would legalize marijuana at the federal level. Gillibrand says the bill, known as the Marijuana Justice Act, would "help fix decades of injustice caused by our nation's failed drug policies." The bill would also expunge the records of Americans who have prior marijuana possession convictions. A recent Siena College poll shows that a majority of New Yorkers support the legalization of marijuana.
