The Chautauqua Haz Mat Team and Thruway Traffic Safety remain on the scene of a fire involving a tractor-trailer on the State Thruway westbound in the town of Sheridan this hour. The fire involved a trailer loaded with hazardous materials. State Police Troop T say that flames are no longer visible, and there were no injuries. As of 3:40 PM, the right lane of I-90 westbound remained closed. WDOE News has learned that the driver was able to separate the tractor from the trailer that became fully involved. Firefighters from Fredonia and East Dunkirk were initially called to the scene around 10 am. Troopers say the State DEC has also been notified of the fire and Thruway maintenace is putting an extended right lane closure in place.
