Six people are being assisted by the Red Cross following a house fire near Brooklyn Square in Jamestown early Wednesday morning. Jamestown fire officials say crews were called to the two-family home at 130 Water Street just before 1 am and made a quick stop. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for an injury when something got into his eye. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Red Cross has responded to 10 fires in Western New York since January 5th.
