The Fredonia Police Department assisted the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Fraud Unit with a criminal investigation in the village Friday that led to a number of arrests for possession of fraudulent driver's licenses. Undercover officers reviewed the licenses of patrons entering downtown bars. As a result of the investigation, 26 individuals between the ages of 18 to 20 were arrested for possessing fraudulent driver's licenses. All were released on appearance tickets and will appear in court at a later date. Police officials says plans are being made for further investigations.
