Lake Effect Snow to Intensify This Afternoon and Tonight

Travel conditions will deteriorate today and tonight, as a second round of lake effect snow becomes organized over the region.  The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a lake effect snow warning for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and southern Erie counties until 7:00 AM Monday.  Meteorologist Shawn Smith says a band of snow is beginning to take shape this morning and will intensify during the afternoon...

Smith says some parts of Chautauqua County got a fresh coating of snow overnight.  He says through Monday morning, we should expect to see five to nine inches of accumulation in the most persistent lake snows...
