A Westfield man is facing a number of charges after a one-vehicle accident in the Town of Chautauqua on Wednesday. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene on Route 394 just before 3:45 PM. On arrival, deputies learned that 54-year-old Kevin Kelley was driving north on Route 394 when he left the roadway and came to rest in a field. A witness at the scene told deputies that Kelley had been driving erratically before the crash. Following the investigation, Kelley was allegedly found to be driving under the influence of drugs, and was also found to be in possession of a controlled narcotic medication without a presciption. Kelley was not injured in the crash. He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, moving from lane unsafely, and speed not reasonable and prudent, and released with appearance tickets for Chautauqua Town Court.
