Fredonia firefighters were called out to a vehicle fire on the State Thruway eastbound between Exit 59 and Exit 58 late last night. The fire involving a tractor-trailer was first reported shortly after 11 pm near milepost 462.9 in the town of Sheridan. Chautauqua County Sheriff's dispatchers say a portion of the Thruway eastbound was closed for about half-hour so that crews could quell the flames. No injuries were reported and the vehicle fire has since been cleared.
