No Injuries Reported in Route 83 Accident Involving a Logging Truck

A portion of Route 83 in the Town of Arkwright was shut down for an extended period of time late Tuesday morning following an accident that involved a logging truck. According to Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies, 32-year-old Andrew Sikes of South Dayton was traveling west on Route 83 at about 10:30 AM when the accident occurred. Sikes told deputies that he fell asleep and swerved into the eastbound lane, striking a logging truck driven by 44-year-old Jesse Stuve of Great Valley. No injuries were reported, and no charges were filed. Chautauqua County Fire Police, along with firefighters from Forestville, Sheridan, and Cassadaga, assisted at the scene.
