A Washington, DC man is facing criminal possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of marijuana charges after a traffic stop early Saturday morning on Route 219 in the town of Carrollton. State Police say 20-year-old Dante Hicks was a passenger in the vehicle that was pulled over for failure to dim its headlights for oncoming traffic. Troopers searched the vehicle after they notice the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Hicks was found to be in possession of a small bag of marijuana and a loaded semi-automatic pistol. Troopers say he didn't have a permit for the weapon. Hicks was arraigned on the charges in Allegany Town Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail on bail.
