Bills Owners Respond to Trump's Comments on NFL National Anthem Controversy

As NFL players, coaches, and owners get ready for another Sunday of football, they have been put under a glaring spotlight by President Donald Trump. During a political rally on Friday, the President told the NFL to "fire or suspend" players who don't stand for the national anthem. Buffalo Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula responded to the President's comments on Saturday. In a statement, they said, "President Trump's remarks were divisive and disrespectful to the entire NFL community, but we tried to use them as an opportunity to further unify our team and our organization. Our players have the freedom to express themselves in a respectful and thoughtful manner and we all agreed that our sole message is to provide and to promote an environment that is focused on love and equality."
