Jamestown Man Arrested Following High-Speed Chase

A Jamestown man is facing several charges after he led police on a high-speed chase across the south county on Monday. At about 9:15 PM, Jamestown Police tried to pull over a pickup truck that ran a stop sign at the intersection of Prather Avenue and Barrett Avenue. The driver, 47-year-old Thomas Kimbrough, Sr., took off at a high rate of speed and tried to flee from officers. The pursuit went through the Town of Busti, Village of Lakewood, and Town of Ellicott before ending on West 15th Street in Jamestown. Kimbrough led officers on a short foot pursuit before being taken into custody. He was allegedly found to be operating the pickup truck while impaired and was also allegedly in possession of 6.8 grams of packaged cocaine. Kimbrough was taken to the Jamestown City Jail on felony counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, 1st-degree reckless endangerment, and 1st-degree aggravated unlicensed operation; misdemeanor counts of 3rd-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, 2nd-degree obstruction, DWI-drugs, and reckless driving; and several vehicle and traffic violations.
