Jamestown Police have arrested an 18-year-old man who allegedly fired a gunshot Thursday afternoon in the south county city. Officers responded to the area of Prendergast Avenue and East 8th Street at about 12:40 PM on a report of a shot fired. On arrival, officers saw the suspect running with a handgun exposed. The man, identified as Eduardo Rivera, led police on a brief foot pursuit, and was taken into custody in the 800 block of Spring Street. During a search of the area, authorities found a spent shell casing and a loaded Lorcin .380. Rivera is charged with 2nd-degree criminal use of a firearm, 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, discharge of a firearm within city limits, and two counts each of obstruction and reckless endangerment. No injuries occurred during the incident.
