U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today announced that a fire department in southern Erie County will be getting a large grant. The North Evans Fire Department will be receiving $184,000 in funding through the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The North Evans Fire Department will be using the funding to purchase new self-contained breathing apparatus units.
