New York's junior senator will be in Jamestown later this morning to visit the Mental Health Association in Chautauqua County to announce the Opioid Addiction Prevention Act. U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says the bipartisan legislation would crack down on one of the most dangerous root causes of the opioid addiction crisis-the over-prescription of opioids for patients with short-term, acute pain. The bill is modeled after a New York State law. We'll have more on the Gillibrand visit throughout the day.
