A Jamestown woman was charged Monday morning with drunk driving under Leandra's Law. Jamestown Police pulled over a vehicle with a loud muffler in front of 540 Lakeview Avenue at about 4:30 AM. An investigation found that the driver, 31-year-old Vanessa Maldonado, was allegedly intoxicated and had a six-year-old child in the vehicle. Maldonado was also allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine. She was taken to the Jamestown City Jail on several charges, including DWI, aggravated DWI with a child, 1st-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, endangering the welfare of a child, and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police add that Child Protective Services was notified.
