Jay Leno Replaces Aretha Franklin as Opening Night Performer at Chautauqua

There's going to be a change in performers for the opening night of the 2017 season at Chautauqua Institution. On Friday, Institution officials announced that former "Tonight Show" host, comedian, and Emmy Award winner Jay Leno will perform next Saturday, June 24th for opening night at the Institution's new Amphitheater -- the first performance at the new Amp. Leno spent more than two decades as the host of "The Tonight Show" and has been widely characterized as "the hardest working man in showbusiness." Leno replaces Aretha Franklin, who has had to cancel her trip to Chautauqua due to an illness. All tickets for the Aretha Franklin concert will be honored for the Leno performance. Anyone looking for a refund due to the change may call the Chautauqua Institution Ticket office at 1-888-688-1960.
