Flames destroy vacant house and damage another home in Jamestown

Flames have destroyed a vacant house, damaged another home, and two vehicles in the city of Jamestown overnight. Three families with a total of 14 people are being assisted by the Red Cross as a result of the fires. Crews were called to the scene at 213 Barrett Avenue shortly after 2 am according to Deputy Fire Chief Chet Harvey. He says firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from the structure...

Harvey says it took about an hour to bring the fires under control. He says fire damage was heavy to the house at 213 Barrett, while it appears 209 Barrett is salvageable. There were no injuries. Investigators are now looking for a cause.
