The Chautauqua County Board of Elections has completed the task of counting absentees and one affidavit ballot in a close trustee race in the village of Westfield. On election night, incumbent Democrat Robert Cochran led Republican challenger Dennis Lutes by 11 votes. Following today's absentee ballot counting, Cochran defeated Lutes by 5 votes. A total of 7 ballots were either thrown out, over voted or under voted in the absentees according to election officials. The final results that will be certified by the board, Cochran 143 and Lutes 138.
