WNY Native Perez Named Democratic National Committee Chair

Tom Perez, a native of Western New York, is the new chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  Perez was elected DNC chair on Saturday after two rounds of voting in Atlanta, edging out Keith Ellison 235-200.  Perez, who served as Secretary of Labor during Barack Obama's second term, used his victory speech to appeal for party unity, saying that Democrats must now turn their focus to fight the values of the Trump administration...

Thomas Perez: Trump doesn't stand for America

Perez did name runner-up Ellison his deputy chair.  President Trump responded to the election result Sunday morning on Twitter, writing, "The race for DNC Chairman was of course totally rigged. Bernie's guy, like Bernie himself never had a chance. Clinton demanded Perez."  Trump also tweeted that he was happy for Perez, but also his own Republican party. Perez responded on Twitter, vowing that Democrats across the country will soon be the President's worst nightmare.
