Two bridges in the Dunkirk-Fredonia area will be getting funding for repairs through Governor Andrew Cuomo's BRIDGE NY initiative. The Governor announced Wednesday that Chautauqua County will be getting $1.9 million dollars for the bridge on Matteson Street over Canadaway Creek in Fredonia, while the City of Dunkirk will get $750,000 for work on the Howard Avenue bridge over Crooked Brook Creek. The two projects are part of a $20.3 million round of funding for rehabilitation and repair of bridges and culverts Western New York. BRIDGE NY is a $21.1 billion multi-year plan to upgrade critical roads, bridges, and other vital transportation infrastructure across the state.
