Today we are honoring what would have been Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s 88th birthday. Because it is a federal holiday, most government offices are closed. So are area schools, banks and post offices. The Dunkirk-Fredonia Chapter of the NAACP will be holding a luncheon at the Dunkirk Moose Lodge to honor Dr. King's legacy. Dr. Cedric Howard, the new Vice President for Student Affairs at the State University of New York at Fredonia will be the keynote speaker.
