State Senator Cathy Young this week was reappointed as chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance, keeping her in the top leadership of state government and giving her extra clout in advocating for important causes for her district and Western New York. Young says she remains "committed to responsible, transparent and accountable government" and "must focus...efforts on policies that reduce the tax burden, so that individuals can keep more of their hard-earned money." The Olean Republican adds that "over the past few years, we have successfully cut tax rates, restored the property tax rebate checks, and enacted other pro-growth economic policies, and we should look to build upon these efforts."
