Get ready for another STOP-DWI Enforcement Crackdown later this month. Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace has announced that police agencies across the county will be participating in the next enforcement crackdown beginning Friday, December 16 and continuing through Monday, January 2. The event is being funded by a grant from the Governor's Traffic Safety Commitee and is part of a national crackdown effort. The local law enforcement agencies took part in statepwide crackdowns during Halloween and Thanksgiving weekends, resulting in numerous vehicle stops, arrests and summones according to Gerace.
