DOT officials encouraging people to attend meeting on proposed roundabout

State Department of Transportation officials believe a roundabout is the best design choice for improving safety at the intersection of Routes 20 and 60 in the town of Pomfret near Fredonia. That's according to Susan Surdej of the State DOT Regional Office in Buffalo. She is encouraging area residents to attend a public information meeting on the proposal set for Wednesday, December 7 from 4 until 7 pm at Fredonia Village Hall. Surdej they are seeking public comment on the project. Individuals can arrive at any time from 4 to 7 pm on December 7 to discuss the proposed project with DOT representatives. A formal presentation will be given at 6 pm. The project is currently scheduled to be out for bid in fall of 2017.
