Fredonia firefighters with help from East Dunkirk battled a tractor-trailer fire on the New York State Thruway westbound shortly before 6 am. Crews reported a fully involved car carrier near milepost 474 between Exits 59 and 60. The Fire Department's Facebook page indicates that the carrier had nine vehicles on board with three fully involved in flames. Firefighters were able to save the other six vehicles. The fire closed down the westbound lanes while crews made a quick stop. There were no injuries.
