It has been just over a week since he has taken over and Dunkirk's new DPW Director says its been an "eye opener." Robert Bankoski, who is a member of the Chautauqua County Legislature, replaced Greg Bennice who resigned earlier this month. Bankowski says his department is facing several challenges, including the lack of funding, equipment that is in need of repair and the lack of sufficient manpower. During an appearance on WDOE's Viewpoint program this week, Bankoski told us he has met with all of the departments and says they are busy with a number of projects including repainting the markings of all school zones in the city.
