A Stockton man is facing several charges stemming from a traffic stop last Saturday in the Town of Pomfret. Chautauqua County Sheriff's officers pulled over 44-year-old James Beers on Route 60 for allegedly driving without a valid license. An investigation showed Beers to allegedly be in possession of an open container of alcohol and a controlled substance. Beers will appear in Pomfret Town Court on charges of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, controlled substance in non-original container, 2nd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
