Dunkirk Police are investigating the disappearance of four works of art believed to be stolen from the Dunkirk Historical Museum. The historical society first reported the works were stolen in a Facebook post on Sunday. Included the post is a picture of one of the works, painted by Dunkirk native George W. Eggers. The works were donated by the artist's grandson and his wife. WDOE News checked with Dunkirk Police Chief David Ortolano who confirms that the department is investigating the disappearance. Anyone with information about the stolen works should contact Police at 366-2266 or the museum.
