The Buffalo Bills fell to 1-2 in the preseason with a 21-16 loss to the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field on Friday. The Bills' offense failed to find the end zone in the first half, settling for three field goals, while the Redskins scored three touchdowns to take a 21-9 halftime lead. The Bills scored their only touchdown of the game early in the 3rd quarter on a 37-yard run by rookie Jonathan Williams (pictured). Bucking the typical pattern of preseason play, Buffalo rested most of its starters for the third preseason contest, and the starters who did take the field played no more than one quarter. Tyrod Taylor saw limited action under center, completing 2 out of 5 passes for 11 yards. E.J. Manuel took the rest of the snaps at quarterback and went 21-of-39 for 221 yards. Manuel the Bills on a potential game-winning drive late, but was intercepted at the goal line as time expired.
The Bills will close out the preseason on Thursday, September 1st at the Detroit Lions at 7:30 PM.
